Mohakin Travel is a locally owned and managed eco-adventure tourist company based in Nanyuki, a small town at the foot of Mount Kenya. Our aim is to show you our beautiful country in a sustainable, safe and engaging safari. Our team of skilled and experienced guides, porters, drivers and cooks are all local and look forward to sharing their knowledge of Kenyan culture, fauna, flora, and sharing our unique places.

Mohakin Travel director Mohammed Kinyua grew up at the foot of Mount Kenya and has been climbing mountains since he was a teenager. For the past 20 years, he has been sharing his passion for the mountain with visitors. As Mohakin Travel grew, Mohammed employed additional trained guides to help both on the mountain, and to show clients other parts of his beautiful country.

Mohakin Travel supports the local Nanyuki community by employing all our staff from the region. By choosing Mohakin Travel, you are supporting this community and building environmental awareness. Our guides all have professional training in safe work practice, environmental awareness, high altitude safety, culture, conservation and basic first aid.
